RESOLUTION HONORING THE FOREST VIEW FIFTH GRADE CLASSES FOR
COMPLETING THE D.A.R.E. PROGRAM
RESOLUTION #03-038
WHEREAS, it is a pleasure to commend the fifth grade students of Forest View Elementary School who completed the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program; and
WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. is an excellent program that assists these young people in resisting drug abuse and is an effective awareness program designed to help students recognize and resist peer pressure to experiment with drugs; and
WHEREAS, these students, in completing the D.A.R.E. program, go through a rigorous and comprehensive course that deals with self esteem, assertiveness, and alternatives to drug abuse; and
WHEREAS, under the excellent guidance of Lansing Police Officer Julie Schneggenburger and their teachers, the students of Forest View Elementary School worked diligently and learned a great deal through the program; and
WHEREAS, their conscientious efforts will have a positive impact in the future for the students, and it is expected that, in the years ahead, each and every student will remember the D.A.R.E. message and heed it; and
WHEREAS, these students will be honored at a graduation ceremony on February 20th, 2003.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulate and commend the fifth grade students of Forest View Elementary School on their graduation and successful completion of the D.A.R.E. program; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners also congratulate the parents, teachers, and administrators of Forest View Elementary School, who deserve our praise for their involvement in and enthusiastic support the D.A.R.E. program.
